DESCRIPTION |
|
A cement-based, high
performance jointing fill material with polymer additives.
|
 |
|
FIELD OF
APPLICATION |
Used in jointing
applications of ceramic, faience, tile etc. materials for up to
0-6 mm. width.
|
|
APPLICATION
SURFACES |
Used on walls of
inner and outer places and floor. CERAX; has a high resistance
to exterior climate, mainly to extremes
of freezing and hot weather.
It offers a robust, reliable, and easy
application with polymer content. It has a
long workability period.
|
|
PREPARATION OF
SURFACE |
1. In order to
obtain a homogeneous color and drying, dust, sawdust,
construction-cement wastes, etc., which may be existing amongst
spaces of jointing, should be scraped by using a thin rod and
cleaned with a brush before applying pointing.
2. Spaces of pointing should be moistened before application,
especially on walls. |
|
APPLICATION
REQUIREMENTS |
1. Ambient
temperature should be between +5 0C and +350C.
2. It shouldn’t be applied on melted, frozen or hot surfaces.
3. It shouldn’t be applied under the sun.
4. No foreign material (Lime, Plaster, Cement, Etc.) can be
added into any prepared mortar.
5. Direct inspiration should be avoided because it is a cement-
based material.
|
|
APPLICATION |
1. CERAX Pointing
Fill Mortar of 20 kg with average 4-5 liters of water should be
thoroughly mixed as not to remain any aggregate, preferably by
low-cycle mixer or trowel.
2. CERAX Pointing Fill Mortar should be mixed just before
application after left for rest for 10 minutes.
3. Mortar should be filled into jointing spaces with a mob
having hard rubber tip or a jointing spreader trowel with hard
rubber base.
4. It should be drawn first in a parallel and then diagonal
direction in order to fill spaces thoroughly.
5. Excess of the mortar on the surface should be grazed with a
soft-tipped spatula or moistened sponge- tipped spatula, and
then waited for 15-30 minutes according to the ambient
temperature, thus any thin layer of jointing that may be left on
the surface should be cleaned.
6. Surface smoothing or cleaning procedure should be performed
with the help of a dry cloth while CERAX Pointing Fill Mortar is
wet.
7. This provides easy application and high performance 0-6 mm in
jointing spaces.
